Cody, Wyoming Pow Wow

Kim, Rebekah and I went to Cody, Wyoming for the weekend. Named after "Buffalo Bill" Cody, the famed buffalo hunter and creator of the Wild West Shows, Cody still has an Old West feel to it. There is a rodeo every single night in the summer and a re-enactment of a Wild West Shootout outside the Irma Hotel everyday.

Some of the famous buildings in this Old West Town are original cabins once used by Butch Cassiday and the Sundance Kid and a Wyoming saloon once frequented by the Hole in the Wall Gang.

Our main reason for visiting Cody was to attend the Plains Indian Pow Wow. The pow wow is a celebration of the rich, vivid Native American culture through dance, song, and costume. It was very interesting to watch and listen:

We ate fry bread with honey butter. Yum.

This costume was my favorite!!
